How much Fun is a Pumpkin Pie Contest?  Get into the Autumn Spirit:  Bake a pie and share it with the Community!

Contest Rules: •One entry per person. •Pie must be at least 50% Pumpkin.  You may use can or fresh pumpkin. •Pie must be homemade – made from scratch. •Pie must include a bottom and side crusts. •Please bake pie in a disposable pie pan. •Pie’s must arrive onsite by 4pm; Refrigeration is not available at the Market. •Winners will be announced after the judging is complete. •After judging, all pies will be sliced and given away to everyone, unless you request your pie to be returned. prizes are as following: First Prize: $75.00 Gift Certifcate to Bison Restaurant, Second Prize: $50.00 Botega Salon & Gallery Third Price: $ 30.00 in Market Bucks.

Harvest Fest has arrived and what a beautiful Autumn we have in front of us- time to celebrate!

Join us down in Central park,  we’ve got 11 amazing bands booked to play all day starting at 1pm right through to 9pm.  Activities and Games for kids,  Beer Gardens, Hay rides,  Pumpkin Pie Contest,  and games and activies set up for both kids and Adults.

The Market starts at 11am, 1 hour later on this final day of the season.  We’ve got some Fab/ Exciting new vendors making a special appearance at the Market… totem pole carvers and need I mention the mini donut people…

Summer Solstice 2012… It turned out to be a gorgeous “mountain day” of high cloud and intense sunshine at the Banff Farmers Market!! My Personal Highlights…. Oooh, I just can’t forget about Mystee and Michelle’s fabulous “Manna Mamma” popsicle stand: I decided to treat myself first thing in the morning to their Vietnamese Coffee popsicle . I’m not sure I’ll ever need hot coffee again!

Right across from my Natur’el Tea booth are friends and a new Vendor: Kate and Fiona from Botega Salon here in town. All women should pay them a visit this summer; they’re offering chic Hair Wraps and Feather extensions: you can choose your own style and pick your colour threads, personalize it even more with beautiful natural stones woven in! I’ll be getting one of those before the summers out .

Also, a wonderful highlight for me, happening during the Market this year, is Mindy from Rocky Mountain Yoga teaching an outdoor Yoga class in the Gazebo! You could not design a more stunning outdoor yoga studio if you tried: you will be breathing in the most revitalizing fresh air while meditating to the river flowing in front, and stretching towards our great rundle mountain through poses. This will make my summer!! I highly encourage you to join a class one Wednesday; it’s a $10 drop in fee for 45min of heaven. Class time is from 1:15- 2pm.

After all the laughter, exercise, and Sunshine, I ended my day with a big piece of Chocolate cake covered in fresh Strawberries from our very own Aussie Barista. They claim in to be the best chocolate cake inAustralia, but I’m extendingCanadaunder that banner as well!
